May 31st Deadline to Property Taxes

If your 2025 property tax bill is unpaid, please read for important deadlines. The annual Sarasota County Tax Certificate Sale for unpaid real estate accounts will be held June 1st and the amount due will increase significantly on that date. Unpaid tangible personal property accounts will have a warrant issued. In order to avoid additional charges, tax payments must be RECEIVED in our office no later than Sunday, May 31st.

Tax Certificate Sale June 1st 
The annual Sarasota County Tax Certificate Sale will be held online Monday, June 1st. If you are interested in investing, you can register now or preview a items for sale. Only pre-registered bidders may participate in this sale. Bidding begins at 18% per year, and each tax certificate is sold to the investor bidding the LOWEST annual interest rate. It is important to know that a tax certificate is a tax lien; there are no properties available for purchase at this sale. Click here to more information.

Notice to Escrow / Bulk Tax Payment Companies

This fall, our office will implement Grant Street Group's tax collection system which has an online application called EscrowExpress® that will be used for the processing of 2026 property tax escrow / bulk payments. 

Beginning September 1, 2026, EscrowExpress is the only manner in which the Sarasota County Tax Collector will accept property tax escrow / bulk payments. To read more about how this change will impact your business with our office, please review this official memo.

Service Updates for Our Office

Serving Sarasota County Only
Appointments or walk-in service will be provided to Sarasota County residents, businesses, seasonal residents, and those establishing residency only. This change will enable us to more efficiently serve the residents of Sarasota County. If you live outside of Sarasota County, please visit your Tax Collector.

Appointments are recommended for all services and can be scheduled online. Appointments are required for the Road or Written Test, Concealed Weapon License, and any service in the North Port Office.
